This is so relatable, we are often caught in the Hamster Rad like we say in german. But its also important to stand still at times and rest . Its a wonderful illustrated short story :)
I so relate to this! At the same time I often find myself resisting being with that stillness. It’s so refreshing and inspiring to receive this in the form of a beautifully illustrated poem. Thank you Marloes 🙏💕
I came upon your blog by chance, but it felt like synchronicity - as if this was written especially for me. Thank you for sharing his deep wisdom and your beautiful illustrations with it.
Just a quick note in case you don’t know: for viewers using “dark mode” it’s very hard to see the illustrations, I’m assuming because you’ve posted them as pngs with transparent background? So we see blue text over the black background on most of them… maybe it’s just me 😅 but I figured I would mention it in case it’s helpful for you or someone else.
Ah this is such a lovely way to frame the limbo I’ve been in lately. Pondering where to go. I’ve been concerned about standing still but this makes me reflect on why it has been needed!
Zo herkenbaar geschreven. Ik heb in een soortgelijk vaarwater gezeten. Ik vind het bewonderenswaardig hoe jij dit zo mooi en duidelijk kan vertellen in woord en beeld. Echt fantastisch!
Stunning. So relatable, and also, standing in the water, feeling the wind whip around me is one of my absolute favourite things to do. I have a drawing I did a year ago that captures a lot of similarities in your last image. It felt such a comfort to see that reflected in your drawing too.
This was absolutely beautiful — both to read, and to dwell in visually. So happy to have come across this today, and excited to read more from you soon! 🤍✨
Deze raakt me. Omdat ik je woorden voel en herken. Omdat je het zo mooi hebt neergezet. Omdat ik jou (en mezelf) gun om still te staan en de sand (en alles...) tot rust te laten komen. 💖

That's really lovely to hear, thank you Erentia!
"Every time I stand still, I realise I'm not heading where I want to be" - WOW! Same. Thank you for this.
Mooi!
Such a good reflection 🥰 love it!

Yes, they are. I sometimes forget people prefer viewing things in dark mode. Good of you to mention it.

I hope this helps a bit!
This put words to feelings that I didn’t know were with me this morning. Thank you for sharing your art Marloes

Images help us to get quicker and closer to certain feelings, doesn't it?
